Anger Puppets and others...(2025 - )

These are paper puppets that are made from prints, and while they appear twee and playful they spring from a serious place; a part of me that is enthralled to act on its most immediate and reactive desires.

The artist Mike Kelley, a large inspiration of mine, said of handmade toys: “I think they are unconscious projections of the maker.” 

My paper puppets are acknowledgements of the usually shrouded and shameful desires, even in the pettiest of matters. They take many forms and enable different aspects of the “uglier” parts of me, but the common thread is that they are always strictly on my side. They are friends and pillars in the darkest of times.
